Global PR Placement

During a 12-month placement at global heritage brand Barbour, I was immersed in brand communications, providing essential support across the Global PR and wider Marketing team. I played a key role in the successful execution of high-profile campaigns and initiatives. My daily contributions were critical to maintaining brand visibility, including:

  • Media relations- managing media enquiries, preparing and distributing press releases and assisting in the organisation of press sample logistics

  • Campaign delivery- contributing to the planning and execution of marketing campaigns including designer collaborations

  • Event support- providing logistical support for brand events, such as press days, product launches, and activations

This fast-paced environment propelled my growth. Professionally, I built an impressive portfolio of key skills in media communications, campaign development, and authentic brand storytelling, directly learning how to adapt and maintain a consistent brand narrative across channels. Personally, I gained confidence in my abilities and successfully found my voice within a large, creative team.

I also had the opportunity to spend experience days within the in-house studio and Digital Marketing teams as well as with Barbour’s PR agency- Good Culture.

Key Projects

Barbour x Fenwick Tea and Toasties

This pop-up celebrated 30 years of the Barbour Liddesdale jacket and played homage to Barbour and Fenwick's North East roots with a locally sourced, artisan menu.

  • Kick-started planning by producing initial research presentations on successful food activations.

  • Managed the event launch logistics, including drafting a guest list of local press and talent.

London Fashion Week Gifting Suite

We hosted a Barbour gifting suite at The Nomad Hotel at the start of LFW to showcase the SS25 womenswear collection and create a buzz for the upcoming season. Guests left with not just gifting, but an understanding of the storytelling for the collections!

  • Attended and assisted the team for the duration of the suite.

  • Connected and built relationships with the 40+ VIP press and talent who attended.

Barbour People

Barbour People is a digital-first initiative celebrating the brand's diverse community through photos and stories. I assisted with two high-profile shoots: Tynemouth and the Newcastle Falcons collaboration.

  • Contributed to the creative process and saw the resulting content achieve a combined audience of 1 million online.

  • Tynemouth Shoot: Engaged with the public to identify Barbour wearers and capture insightful customer stories.

  • Falcons Shoot: Coordinated as a brand partner with the Newcastle Falcons rugby team for the Barbour Dogs range shoot involving players and their pets.

  • Successfully brought light to the Barbour Dogs range through effective brand partnership collaboration.

Northumberland County Show

I attended the 2025 show to promote Barbour’s Wax For Life and Re-Loved sustainability programmes, championing product longevity and waste reduction.

  • Engaged with 20,000+ show attendees, speaking to customers about garment care, product life, and sustainability initiatives.

  • Helped raise over £500 for The Royal Countryside Fund (RCF) through the re-waxing and donation scheme.

  • Increased awareness and engagement for the Wax For Life and Re-Loved programmes within the community.

Glastonbury

I managed top-tier talent gifting for Barbour's 2025 activation, cementing the brand's position in festival style.

  • Organised gifting for a list of celebrities, including Lilly Allen, Ncuti Gatwa, Will Poulter, and more, to be worn at both the festival and related events.

  • Successfully executed a rewarding logistical challenge to ensure timely and impactful delivery of key pieces.
